Tesla makes another leap in the solar industry
One of the most common arguments against solar panels is the unappealing appearance they present to a home’s roof.
Tesla recently revealed new images of their residential solar panels and it appears they look to put an end to that argument.
Tesla is most known for the extremely efficient vehicles they produce. Their Model S is the most fuel efficient large vehicle on the market and has soared in popularity in the United States over the past few years. Along with a 104 combined miles per gallon, the Model S is also known as one of the most stylish vehicles in the US.
Adding style to your homes solar energy system
Tesla’s new resdential solar energy systems are arguably the most stylish panels on the market. They feature a black design that blends into almost any roof and “use no visible mounting hardware”.
The result is any extremely sleek and clean look that negates any argument against the aesthetics of solar panels on a home’s roof.
Tesla’s new solar panel design isn’t the first time the company has made an effort to bring a more visually appealing look to solar.
In 2016, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, announced the Solar Roof project. The Solar Roof is a solar energy system that integrates solar panels and a roof’s shingles. Musk said his goal was to create “a solar roof that looked better than a normal roof, generate electricity, last longer, have better insulation, and have an installed cost that is lower than the cost of normal electricity.”
His argument (which is an extremely valid one) is “why would you buy anything else?”
Musk has said that the Solar Roof will be start taking orders in April of 2017.

Tesla is also responsible for the creation of the Powerwall. The Powerwall is, in a nutshell, a backup energy source that generates and stores the energy created by your home’s solar energy system. If your utility provider were to be faced with any outages (rain, snow, storms, natural disasters, etc.), the Powerall would provide your home with energy to prevent any disruptions.
