Independent Stave is a 110 year old company based in Lebanon, Missouri and is the world’s most popular producer of wine & spirits barrels. This facility is a stave mill and produces the narrow strips of wood that compose the sides of barrels. They are sent to a cooperage where they assemble and char the inside of the barrels to create unique flavors during the storing process.

In an effort to meet its ESG goals for decarbonization, Independent Stave selected EnergyLink as the primary contractor to design-build a 618.2 kW ground mount solar array next to their facility. The main benefits of the project include:

• Decarbonization: Independent Stave’s wine and spirits will now be produced more sustainably, in accordance with the company’s mission, vision and values.
• On-site power generation: With a sizable ground mount array installed, Independent Stave’s facility will be able to offset its current electric usage with clean, renewable power generated independently from the local electric grid in Lebanon.
• Job creation: EnergyLink will mobilize an on-site crew to complete this installation on-time and on-budget.
